About Us
At Abby’s Place, our story begins with a simple love for Fredericksburg. We’ve always believed this town has a special kind of charm—from the historic Main Street to the rolling Hill Country views and everything in between. After years of visiting ourselves, we wanted to create a place where others could feel just as at home here as we do.
Abby’s Place was born out of that vision: a peaceful, comfortable stay just minutes from downtown, where guests can relax, recharge, and enjoy all the beauty and hospitality Fredericksburg has to offer. Whether you’re here for wine tasting, shopping, a romantic weekend, or simply some quiet time away, we’ve designed our property to feel warm, welcoming, and distinctly local. We’re proud to offer a historic lodging experience with modern comforts—thoughtfully maintained and tucked away in a quiet neighborhood that still keeps you close to everything.
Thank you for considering Abby’s Place. We hope it becomes your home away from home in Fredericksburg, just like it is for us.
We have fallen in love with Fredericksburg and our Abby's Place! Suite 1 is a rock house built in the 1880s. Suite 2 was added on in 1920s. Suites 3, 4 and 5 were added in the mid 1990s and a bed and breakfast property was created on an acre in the heart of town. Lots of charm and comfort to start with and then we had such fun lovingly furnishing and decorating each unit with a different theme that seemed fitting.
Abby’s Place is conveniently located in town near the heart of the shopping but it sits on an entire acre of land with a windmill! We love sitting outside in the morning in the rocking chairs on the front porch of suites 4 and 5, listening to the windmill and watching the birds. Sitting outside at night by the fire pit behind suite 3, we are amazed at how many stars you can see in the sky even though you are in town. A second firepit is just outside the doors to suites 4 and 5.
For groups, suite 3 with its large kitchen/dining/living area becomes the Gathering Place. The kitchen is a great place to hang out or cook for the entire group in its fully equipped kitchen (including a double oven). The spacious living area in suite 3 has antique furniture, a sleeper sofa, 65” flat screen & gas fireplace. The dining area and kitchen adjoin in an open floor plan and have 2 dining tables which will seat 14. The exercise room has an elliptical machine, yoga mat, step, chin-up bar and light weights. The back patio behind suite 3 features propane grill & a wood-burning fire pit. Board games, cards and books are in the living area of suite 3. Outdoor games (horseshoes, washers, bean bag toss and more) are in the closet in suite 3 and can be set up outside.
We are only a block and 1/2 off of Main Street on the east end of town. The Nimitz Museum is only 1 &1/2 miles away. It is a long stroll but one we enjoy.
Outdoor Amenities:
The back patio of Suite 3 features a propane grill, a fire pit with seating, and the charm of a classic windmill. Enjoy quiet mornings on the porch with the sound of the windmill and birdsong, or gather around the fire in the evenings under a sky full of stars. Despite being just minutes from downtown, the one-acre property offers plenty of space and tranquility.
Location Perks:
Conveniently located near shopping, dining, and museums—including the National Museum of the Pacific War just 1.5 miles away—Abby’s Place also provides easy access to Hill Country attractions.
Additional Info:
Suites 4 and 5 are located in a separate building on the same one-acre property. When all five suites are rented together, Abby’s Place provides five separate bedrooms (2 king and three queen beds), each with their own living rooms (and queen size sofa sleeper) and full bathroom. That is a total of 5 bedrooms, 5 living rooms with sofa sleepers, and 5 bathrooms.
Please Note:
Abby’s Place does not serve breakfast on-site. In the tradition of most Fredericksburg B&Bs, each suite is stocked with coffee, tea, bottled water, and a variety of snacks.

"We had a wonderful stay. Abby's Place made for a great last minute booking and was so much more comfortable than staying at a hotel. The location was ideal for leaving out toward the wineries in the morning, but stopping by on the way into town in the evening. Would definitely stay again and bring family to stay in the other adjacent suite."
-Nathan
"They included breakfast coupons each morning. We loved the star shaped firepit outside including the wood. We cooked our dinner one night on the grate. Very homey, decorated nicely, comfy bed, nice neighborhood & AC works very well! Very close to town!!"
